Stand-downs and suspensions

Suspensions: fewer than 5 cases in 2025, so no rate is shown.
These measure how a school responds to behaviour, and schools set their own thresholds, so they are not a measure of how students behave.
What ERO found
The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Evaluation Report from July 2024. ERO found that outcomes for students have improved over time, and that an earlier gap in writing results for Māori students and boys has been addressed.
Many students meet curriculum expectations in reading, writing and maths, and structured literacy approaches are helping students make faster progress. Attendance strategies, including timely contact with whānau, mean most students attend regularly. ERO highlighted leaders who guide teaching well, thorough processes for students with additional and complex needs, highly collaborative staff, and a strategic plan developed with the community.
The agreed next steps are to strengthen partnerships with whānau, iwi and the wider community, share strategies that support student wellbeing and inclusion, and keep building staff capability through professional learning to lift progress, achievement and attendance. Team leaders are also to develop a progression framework for teaching te reo Māori.

Enrolling
Students who live in the home zone have the right to enrol. Out-of-zone places are offered under the school’s enrolment scheme, by ballot when there are more applicants than places. The school sets out its zone and each year’s out-of-zone application timeline on its enrolment page, and asks families of new entrants to complete an intention to enrol form early.
