These measure how a school responds to behaviour, and schools set their own thresholds, so they are not a measure of how students behave.
What ERO found
The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Evaluation Report from June 2024. Since its previous review the school has worked on teaching and curriculum practice, and ERO found that restorative practice and positive behaviour strategies have made staff responses more consistent.
Learner progress has improved over time, with many students meeting curriculum expectations in reading, writing and maths. Students with additional and complex needs get timely support, most learners attend regularly, structured literacy is building sound foundations, and the board works well with leaders.
ERO noted that a gap for boys in literacy remains a priority. The agreed next steps are to strengthen the school’s assessment tools, set specific targets for learners working toward curriculum expectations, build staff skill in using assessment to tailor teaching, and use a review of its te reo Māori practice to lift how te reo is taught.
