Home zone
No home zone: any student can apply to enrol. If more students apply than there are places, the school decides how places are offered.
Who goes here
Share of the 178 students who identify with each group. Students can name more than one, so these add up to more than 100%.
MELAA: Middle Eastern, Latin American and African.
Stand-downs and suspensions
Cases per 1,000 students in 2025, adjusted for the ages of the school’s students, compared with all New Zealand schools.
Suspensions: fewer than 5 cases in 2025, so no rate is shown.
These measure how a school responds to behaviour, and schools set their own thresholds, so they are not a measure of how students behave.
What ERO found
The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Report from December 2025. Since its previous review the school has greatly strengthened partnerships between teachers, students and whānau, put a structured approach to literacy fully in place, and seen some students make accelerated progress.
ERO found good quality teaching, a large majority of students at the expected level in maths and a small majority in reading and writing, with results even across groups of learners. Students who need extra learning or behaviour support are identified early, and te reo Māori, tikanga and te ao Māori are strongly part of school life.
ERO raised concerns about attendance: fewer than half of students attend regularly, the school is behind the government target, and chronic absence is not yet falling, although a suitable plan is in place.
ERO also found the school is not on track to meet the government’s reading, writing and maths targets, which the school agrees must be a key priority. Its priorities are to lift achievement in all three areas, strengthen assessment in line with the new curriculum, build leaders’ and teachers’ skill with data, and raise regular attendance.

Enrolling
Keith Street School does not have a home zone, so any student can apply. Families are asked to make a time, about three months before their child turns five, to meet the principal, tour the school and complete enrolment.
New entrants start school in groups at set points during each term, and the enrolment page lists the entry dates.
