What ERO found

The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Evaluation Report from December 2024. ERO found the school is working towards strong and fair outcomes for all students, with most students at or above the expected curriculum level in reading and writing and a majority in maths. Students know and live the school’s values, and feel they belong at the school and are proud of it.

A majority attend regularly, but the school had not yet met the attendance target, and staff were working with whānau to improve it. A new principal and a newly formed board were in place, and ERO noted a growing collaborative teaching culture, calm classrooms with clear routines, and effective support for students who need extra help.

The agreed next steps are to make better use of achievement information to improve teaching and results, especially in maths, to build whānau engagement and partnerships that lift attendance, and to revise assessment and self-review processes so outcomes are fair for every student.
