What ERO found
The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Report from November 2025. ERO found that learner progress is rising, teaching in reading, writing and maths is strong, and a large majority of students are at or above the expected curriculum level in all three. It noted good support for students with complex needs, structured approaches to literacy and maths that are well embedded, place-based learning developed with local mana whenua, and close ties with whānau.
ERO also noted that reading and writing results are not yet even across groups of learners, and that regular attendance is improving but still short of the government target. Its priorities for the school are to bring in the new reading, writing and maths curriculum requirements, lift progress for all learners with a focus on boys in literacy, share leadership more widely to strengthen self-review, and work with the community on a plan to improve attendance.

Enrolling
Faith City School is a state-integrated school with a Christian special character. Under its enrolment scheme, preference goes to families who live by a Christian approach in line with the beliefs of the Assemblies of God in New Zealand.
Other places are offered only once preference applicants are placed and there is room on the roll, and a ballot is used when a priority group has more applicants than places.
Attendance dues are compulsory and are paid to Faith City Church, the school’s proprietor, for the upkeep of the buildings. The enrolment page has the prospectus, enrolment form and enrolment scheme, and families are invited to contact the school to arrange a meeting with the principal.
