What ERO found

The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Evaluation Report from March 2025. ERO found that outcomes are becoming more equitable, with most students at or above the expected curriculum level in reading and maths and a majority in writing. Students showed a strong sense of wellbeing, and the school met the government’s regular attendance target in 2024.

ERO pointed to well-established leadership focused on the quality of teaching, a board that works closely with leaders, clear shared expectations for teaching, reliable use of assessment information to plan lessons, regular communication with parents and whānau, and te reo Māori, tikanga and mātauranga Māori built into the curriculum.

The agreed next steps are to continue professional learning in writing so practice is consistent across the school, with a focus on lifting results for Māori students and boys in writing, to keep checking how well improvement strategies and professional learning are working, and to keep working towards the government’s attendance targets.
